William C. "Bill" Moss Appointed Sales Rep for Tennessee
EVERGREEN, Colo.—William C. “Bill” Moss has joined the sales team of Hometown Connections as the Sales Representative for the state of Tennessee, bringing to the company his experience as a distinguished public power advocate and executive.
Hometown Connections is the utility services subsidiary of the American Public Power Association (APPA), negotiating lower purchase prices from industry suppliers on behalf of all APPA members across the U.S. The products and services offered through the company include meter reading systems/AMR, customer information software, broadband Internet over power lines, green energy programs, power plant engineering and construction, customer & employee research, and consulting in the areas of cyber security, energy risk management, broadband communications, and business strategy development.
Moss served as the Executive Director of the Tennessee Municipal Electric Power Association from 1988 to 2003. Prior to his service with TMEPA, Moss was the General Manager of the Covington Electric System in Tennessee from 1987 to 1988. He began his public power career at Memphis Light Water & Gas, joining the utility in 1963 as an Assistant Engineer and then advancing through a variety of posts, including Superintendent of Electric Distribution and Manager of Electric Engineering. Moss has long been active in public power’s national, regional and state associations. For example, he served on the Board of Directors of the American Public Power Association, as well as on numerous industry task forces and committees. Moss earned a Ph.D. in Christian Psychology from Memphis Bible College in 1996, an MS in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas in 1980, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Christian Brothers College in 1963.
