MMUA to Promote Products & Services Tailored to Public Power
LAKEWOOD, CO and PLYMOUTH, MN (April 10, 2017)—To help its members obtain management and operations support from a trusted resource, the Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association has joined the marketing affiliate network of Hometown Connections, the utility services subsidiary of the American Public Power Association. MMUA will provide promotional services, explaining how members may access through Hometown Connections discount pricing from the industry’s leading vendors, as well as management consulting support in the areas of organization assessment, strategic planning, governance and customer service training, market research, and workforce solutions.
MMUA represents the interests of Minnesota’s municipal electric, gas, and water utilities. The Association will promote Hometown Connections products and services to its member utilities in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
“Our mission is to unify, support, and serve our member utilities so they can in turn improve service to their customers and communities,” said Jack Kegel, Executive Director, MMUA. “By joining the Hometown Connections network of affiliated state associations and joint action agencies, we will help our utilities gain access to a new source for municipal utility management best practices and state-of-the-art products and services. We see Hometown as a unique vehicle for enabling our members to improve their operations, customer services, and value to their communities. We look forward to helping the MMUA membership tap into the public power expertise and leadership offered by Hometown Connections staff, affiliates, and vendor partners.”
“Hometown Connections is very pleased to partner with MMUA in support of its membership,” said Tim Blodgett, President and CEO. “With the Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency coming on board recently as a Hometown marketing affiliate, as well as Missouri River Energy Services being a long-time Hometown affiliate, our coordinated partnerships with MMUA, SMMPA, and MRES solidify Hometown’s ability to target our products and services in ways that meet the needs of public power systems in the mid west and across the United States.”
