In June 2019, Hometown Connections welcomed William Acee to the staff as sales representative for the New England region and New York. Since 1990, Bill Acee has been committed to local government in the Village of Sherburne NY and has been closely involved with public power at the local, state and national levels. He has served the village for thirty years and has been integrally involved all aspects of the village’s utility operations including capital planning, economic development, succession planning and training, technology adoption, and energy efficiency programming. With expertise on policy and regulatory issues as well, Mr. Acee helped the village manage the transition from regulated electric markets to the NYISO, an open competitive market.
At the state level, Mr. Acee has served as vice-president on the board of the Municipal Electric Utilities Association of New York State where he oversaw the creation of the joint action agency, the New York Municipal Power Agency. Mr. Acee has also served as the administrator for the New York Association of Public Power.
