Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency Joins Hometown Connections Marketing Program

SMMPA to Promote Products & Services Tailored to Public Power

February 13, 2017 — To help its members obtain utility management and operations support from a trusted resource, the Southern Minnesota Municipal Power Agency (SMMPA) has joined the marketing affiliate program of Hometown Connections, the utility services subsidiary of the American Public Power Association. SMMPA will provide promotional services, explaining how members may access through Hometown Connections discount pricing from the industry’s leading vendors, as well as consulting support in the areas of organization assessment, strategic planning, governance training, market research, and workforce solutions.

SMMPA generates, transmits, and sells reliable wholesale electricity to its 18 municipally-owned member utilities, while providing a variety of programs and services aimed at helping customers use energy more wisely. SMMPA joins a network of 21 public power state associations and joint action agencies providing advertising, editorial, and educational programming that profiles the benefits of Hometown Connections products and services.
