It has never been more important to consider what constitutes effective public-sector leadership and how to equip leaders with the needed skills. Leadership is critical to good public governance, including good planning, efficiency, transparency, and accountability. “To produce such leaders, the public sector must make leader development a key pillar of its overall strategy for the future.” – BCG

Solutions
Based on needs analysis we customize programs to prepare your leaders to address specific organizational challenges integrating assessments, career planning, mentoring, and course work. Some common topics include executive presence, strategy, organizational communication, creating culture, succession planning, building organizational capability and leading change.
Based on sponsor and team member input, objectives are developed, assessments selected, and a custom workshop developed. During the workshop, exercises enable participants to reflect on their own strengths and needs, as well as other team members. They then learn approaches for working together more effectively. Participants learn how to apply these insights by applying insights and new content to tackle real-world problems the team is facing. During this work, the coach provides real time feedback to reinforce new habits and call out old ineffective ones.
The coaching process starts with coach selection by the executive based on matched profiles. Next, an assessment is implemented and debriefed with the executive helping them see themselves and their impact on others more clearly. A coaching plan is developed and over a series of coaching sessions, the leader explores alternate perspectives, approaches, and tools to improve their impact. Upon conclusion there is an opportunity for remeasurement.
Our executive coaches are credentialed through ICF, WABC and have all held executive / senior level roles. They are certified in 10+ 360-degree feedback and psychometric tools to support development. Typical engagements consist of 8 to 12 one hour sessions.
Sapna Welsh was one of four facilitators leading the Novant Health LIFT leadership development program and she was my assigned coach for the duration of the program. Sapna was an inspirational leader that helped develop my skills and build confidence. She worked directly with me to understand my leadership style along with focusing on developing my opportunities. She created a critical thinking environment to evaluate potential weaknesses and how to overcome and manage them. Sapna always provided great feedback and opportunities to improve. I can strongly state, I am a better leader who has become more confident, courageous, motivating, and encouraging. I have Sapna to thank for my growth this past year.
