
Continuing an illustrious career in the public power industry, Phyllis E. Currie joined the staff of Hometown Connections in 2015 as an Executive Consultant providing strategic planning services to community-owned utilities in the state of California. Currie served as general manager of Pasadena Water and Power from 2001 to 2015. During a 30-year career with the city of Los Angeles, Currie held the positions of chief financial officer for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power; assistant city administrative officer overseeing development of the city’s annual operating and capital budgets and director of the Los Angeles rent control program.
Ms. Currie joined the Midcontinent Independent System Operator board of directors in 2016 and in June 2018, the board unanimously elected her chair of the board. She served on the Electricity Advisory Committee of the Department of Energy from 2015 to 2017. Ms. Currie serves on the board of directors of Grid Alternatives and the Association of Women in Water, Energy and the Environment, and is a member of the Pasadena Rotary.
