Hometown Connections Announces 2018 Award Winners for Outstanding Service to Public Power

On August 6 at the 2018 Annual Meeting in Denver, Colo., Hometown Connections, Inc. announced these award winners in recognition of their outstanding efforts and results in support of the organization and the public power community:

  • 2018 Marketing Affiliate of the Year: Municipal Electric Systems of Oklahoma.
  • 2018 Sales Affiliate of the Year: Electric Cities of Georgia. ECG won this award in 2003 and 2004 as well.
  • 2018 Philip D. Shaffer Partner of the Year: ElectSolve Technology Solutions and Services.
  • 2018 Walter R. McGrath Executive Consultant of the Year Award: Dan Ebert.
  • Hometown Connections Affiliate Twenty Years of Service Award: Alabama Municipal Electric Authority.
  • Hometown Connections Affiliate Fifteen Years of Service Award: Indiana Municipal Electric Association, Tennessee Municipal Electric Power Association, and Energy Northwest.
  • Hometown Connections Partner Ten Years of Service Award: Cogsdale.
  • Hometown Connections Partner Five Years of Service Award: PowerSecure.

The Smart Family celebrates Bill’s 20 years of service to Hometown Connections/public power and his retirement in December 2018.

Following the Award ceremony, the group celebrated Bill Smart’s 20 years of service to Hometown Connections and to public power. Hometown’s Senior Vice President of Business Development, Bill Smart is retiring in December 2018.
